Release of TBA v9.0 to v8.x users
The release of version 9.0 of The Business Assistant (TBA), the premium business system for OPE and Power Sports industries, began with new installations this past Summer. The conversion process of current customers that have been using the previous 8.x version is slated to begin in mid February. 'Although version 9.0 is built upon the ease of use and stability of version 8.x, there are enough changes to the functionality that it is requiring a conversion process, not just a program update.' says company CTO Glenn Hancock. It is the conversion utility that is required to take the data from the 8.x users databases, convert it into the new databases that has been in final testing these past few months.

'We place a high value on our clients time and realize the conversion process has to be as automated as possible.' says Jef Schink, project manager. 'We now have the conversion process down to the dealer pretty much inserting a CD and going home for the evening.' The conversion utility is planned to ship to a small group of dealers to test the process the first week of February. 'I'm sure we'll receive some feedback about the process and can address it in the next few weeks. We intend to begin shipping the CD's to all of our clients by end of March.' continued Schink.

Version 9.0 will also be accompanied by a new virtual classroom. The training videos that are played through SSI's SofTek University application on the users PC allows dealership staff to watch and listen as a SofTek staff member performs various functions in TBA 9.0 The conversion CD's will include the new virtual classroom so staff may learn 9.0 before they convert to it.
