YOUNGSTOWN, OH and ALISO VIEJO, CA, November 21, 2002 – SofTek Software International, Inc. announced today that it has completed integrating the e-dn electronic parts ordering solution. After several years of planning and development, the outdoor power equipment industry has embraced and is utilizing a standardized e-commerce technology for sending electronic transactions such as purchase orders, inventory queries, and order confirmation receipts. The technology is called an Electronic Distribution Network (EDN), which routes orders sent from dealers directly to suppliers using e-dn's e-Hub. SofTek will also apply e-dn's technology to the Powersports industry.
The new interface will enable retailers to easily place their orders electronically through the Internet. "These types of conveniences and efficiencies are important to our customers and to e-dn so it was a priority for our new release," says SofTek's CEO Jim Thompson.
Dealers using The Business Assistant (TBA) can send their orders directly from TBA, thus eliminating the repetitive hand entry of part numbers and quantities. The new, highly efficient interface was recently tested and confirmed operational with the e-dn staff. In addition to e-dn's e-Hub, the updated version of SofTek Software's premium point of sale application enhances the application's accounting functions, increases reporting functionality and includes the ability to interface directly to the retailer's web store.
